Who we are
Bakeqo is an independent software publisher. We are building a pricing calculator and order desk for home and micro bakers who sell custom cakes, decorated cookies and cupcakes, most of them running their business on their own or as a side business.
This site, bakeqo.com, publishes the pricing guides behind that software. Many bakers price by guesswork or by copying a competitor. We show the arithmetic instead, so you can swap in your own numbers.
What we publish
- Pricing guides per product, size and finish, each with its own worked numbers.
- Servings and price-per-serving guides by cake size.
- Ingredient cost guides for common batches such as buttercream, ganache and royal icing.
- Guides to taking custom orders: order forms, hourly rates, deposits and cancellations.
How we build each pricing guide
- A stated recipe. Each worked price starts from a recipe we list in full, with quantities.
- Dated, sourced ingredient prices. Each ingredient price shows the month we took it and where it came from. Prices change, so we date them rather than present them as current forever.
- Time at a stated rate. Baking and decorating time is shown in hours, priced at an hourly rate we state, so you can replace it with your own.
- Overhead and packaging, shown separately. Boards, boxes, utilities and similar costs appear as their own lines.
- Servings from a stated slice size. We compute servings from the cake’s size and the slice size we name, and give the price per serving.
- One question per page. Each page needs its own numbers and explanation. We do not publish near-identical pages that only swap a size or a flavor.
- We correct mistakes. If you spot an error, email contact@bakeqo.com.
What we do not do
- We give no legal, tax or food-safety advice. We do not say whether you may sell from home, what a label must say, how to store a cake, or how to charge sales tax.
- Bakeqo is not affiliated with any state cottage-food program, health department or the FDA. For those rules, we link to the agency’s own page.
- Example prices are examples. They are not a recommendation of what you should charge, and we do not write or recommend deposit or cancellation terms for you.
